State Constable

Why I hold two elected positions.

I was appointed State Constable back in 2019 by the Court of Common Pleas to fill the vacancy of Pete Schlenker when he moved to Windsor Twp. I had been elected Constable in Schuylkill County just prior to moving to Hamburg, and was forced to give it up. By receiving the appointment in Hamburg, I had an opportunity to finish what I started. A previous mayor, Roy DelRosario, had also been Mayor and Constable. He even went so far as to get a ruling by the State Ethics Commission. Many people think that you can only serve in one elected position at a time. With some exceptions, it is allowed under State law so long as there are no conflicts of interest. I am a fully-trained Constable, having gone to Basic Training in 2020 and continuing my continuing education every year thereafter. I was elected into the position in 2022 for a six-year term. Many of you probably have seen me performing my election day duties at the Borough Building.

I recently completed my annual pistol qualification, scoring 96/100. Like all my jobs, anything worth doing is worth doing right!
